Passenger Safety
Checks are
held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 3p-6p at Danville's Main
Fire Station, 1111 N Griffin by appointment only. Please call the
Vermilion County Red, White and Blue Child Passenger Safety Team
at 431-2662 to make anappointment.

Healthy
Child Care Illinois (HCCI) is part of the Healthy Child Care
America Campaign. Our nurse consultant works to bring together families,
childcare providers and healthcare providers in partnership to ensure
a healthy and safe environment for children. Our CCRS - Child Care
Resources Services Nurse Consultant
is available to provide informational updates and presentations
in Vermilion and Iroquois Counties.
The CCRS nurse provides training
on health issues ,
and distributes health education materials for child care staff,
parents, and children, assists with immunization record keeping;
conducts site visits and consultations; provides technical assistance,
and professional referrals to other agencies. Topics for children
can include nutrition, lead poisoning, handwashing, 'Elmo goes to
the Doctor', dental health, asthama.
For parents and child care staff, the CCRS nurse can provide education
and information about asthma, child seat safety, blood borne pathogens,
chidl abuse, communicable diseases, dental health, developmental
growth, AD/HD,child (safety) proofing your program, diapering, early
intervention, handwashing, head lice, immunizations, KidCare, lead
poisoning, nutrition, safety -home/playground/food, special needs,
universal precautions, vision and hearing.
